I was in my kitchen cooking meatballs today. Nothing really unusual there.
I spun around from the counter to the refrigerator to grab an egg to throw into the meat. Before I crack the egg into the bowl, I notice there’s something written on its side. I examine to find it’s a “best used by” date imprinted on the side of the egg.
I went through the other eggs and noticed they all have the same printing on the side. I had used two eggs on Saturday for breakfast, but I hadn’t noticed the printing then.
I tried to take a photo of the egg to share with others, but you can’t see the printing.
I’ve never seen something like this before. I hadn’t bought eggs from that particular store before, so maybe it’s special to this store. It just seemed weird to me.
There has to be a story here. How do they get the printing on the side of the eggs? Why do companies feel the need to put the printing on the side of the eggs? Maybe there’s a bizarre fiction story here.
Maybe my mind will start writing something in my head, but right now I’m trying to get a few other stories to shake out.
